đź”– Feature description

Add a “Do Not Disturb” (DND) mode to Novu that allows users to temporarily suppress notifications for a defined period. When DND is enabled, all notification channels (email, SMS, in-app, push, etc.) will respect the user’s preference and hold or discard notifications until the DND window ends.

🎤 Why is this feature needed ?

In many scenarios—such as focused work sessions, meetings, or outside business hours—receiving notifications can be disruptive. A built‑in DND mode would give users fine‑grained control over when they receive alerts, improving their satisfaction.

✌️ How do you aim to achieve this?

Provide a DND configuration where Users can:

  1. Toggle DND on/off immediately or schedule a time window.
  2. Define recurring DND schedules (e.g., daily from 6 pm–8 am).
  3. Override DND for high‑priority events (optional).
On the backend, when sending notifications, Novu will check the recipient’s DND status and queue or discard messages according to configuration.
